Doing a list of favorite songs for me is very difficult, considering I love all genres of music and I do not neccessarily have a clear-cut criteria for the selections. The list even changes depending on what mood I am in, but as of Right now this is it.
1. Under the Bridge-Red Hot Chili Peppers
2. Juicy- The Notorious B.I.G.
3. Layla- Derek & The Dominoes
4. Game Theory- The Roots
5. Castles Made of Sand- Jimi Hendrix
6. Jane Says- Jane's Addiction
7. Slow Ride-Sublime
8. Wish You were Here-Pink Floyd
9. No Woman, No Cry- Bob Marley & The Wailers
This is a tie between two songs 10. For The Good Times-Al Green/Doesn't Remind Me-Audioslave
I wish i had the time and the energy to expand this list to about 200 but for now I think this will do. Anybody with the same tastes I have? Anybody disagree with the list? Feel free to comment on it.

spring break
Spring break starts in less than two weeks, and it couldn't come at a better time. This semester already seems to to be dragging out, possibly because I am still new to teh area and most of my time is spent being bored, or perhaps it is this cold that I just cannot get used to. Either way, I am limping into spring break. A couple of my friends are flying out from Virginia and we are hopefully going to hit a casino and explore downtown, even though their break is the week before ours. Then as my berak begins we are all taking a road trip back to Virginia and I am going to spend the better part of teh week there. Hopefully the weather they have been having there will hold up for my visit (temperatures in the mid-60s) and I can enjoy some fun in the sun, maybe even shoot down to Virginia Beach and cruise the boardwalk.

a little update
Well here is a new update, I still don't have a job haha. I wanted to share some movie recommendations with you guys, if you have not seen The Book of Eli...SEE IT. It is an amazing movie, great acting, suspense, special effects, action, drama. It has it all and plus Mila Kunis is in it and she is super cute. If anybody has seen it and wishes to talk about it, disagree with it or anything feel free. Another movie recommendation on DVD is District 9. It is not your average science-fiction alien movie. Peter Jackson is a master of his craft and it is another movie that will have you on the edge of your seat. In the comedy department, the movie Extract is hilarious, if you like Office Space, then you will love Extract. It is made by the same people and also Mila Kunis is in it...I don't think I need to say how cute she is once again, I may or may not be in love with her.
In other news, Super Bowl weekend is coming up, and even though I truly don't care who wins as I am a Tennessee Titans fan, I am rooting for the Colts, because I am a Tennessee Volunteers fan and Peyton Manning of course used to dawn the Tennessee orange. I do think that it would be a great story for the Saints to win and it would give the city of New Orleans, a city still rebuilding from hurricane Katrina something to cheer for. My parents are having a Super Bowl party and my mom is freaking out about what she is going to make for the Super Bowl "normal people just order wings and pizza" but my mom thinks that since other people are bringing homecooked food she has to prepare an elaborate feast. So if anybody has any ideas I can share with her feel free to let me know.
On the musical front, The Grammys were this past Sunday and although I didn't get to see all of the performances, I must say that my favorite by far was the tribute to Michael Jackson by Usher, Celine Dion, Smokey Robinson, and Carrie Underwood. My only regret is that I was not one of the 13 people in the world that went and got 3-D glasses to see it in 3-D, so it was just blurry to me. The vocals wer amazing though, and you couldn't help but get goosebumps as soon as you heard Michael's voice. Despite what you may think about his personal life, the man was a great artist and performer whose music truly will live on forever.

Hello, my name is Leland Waight. This is my first time ever blogging so I am not sure what to write. I am 21 years old and am in my first semester at SWIC. I just recently moved to Illinois from Virginia about 3 weeks ago. My family was out here for 6 months before i joined up with them, so they are a lot more acquainted than I am. It is a bit of a change, not much, but it is definitely a lot colder here. I absolutely LOVE music, ALL types of music, and when i say all, i mean all. I pride myself on being eclectic with the types of music i listen to. I also love movies and sports. I own over like 100 DVDs, it's my addiction. I am a die hard Yankees fan (I as born in New York, not bandwagon). I am also a Tennessee Titans fan and have been since they were the Oilers. I love to go out and have a good time, but since I don't know anybody in this state, it is proving to be pretty difficult to do that. I live with my parents and younger brother and sisters. and our 2 dogs, Dulce and Chino. I am trying to find a job, as I have been since I got here, so if anybody following me knows of any openings let me know (JK....but not really). I guess that is about it, I am sure you will learn more about me as the semester goes on, so good luck this semester everybody.
